The Heart of Reconciliation

Mark Twain once said: “Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.” Forgiveness is the hard, blue collar work of waging peace. It goes against human nature. But it is possible with God. It starts with the church. And when we learn to walk in forgiveness, as Paul reminds us, we won’t be conquered by evil, but we will conquer evil with good!

Scripture References: Matthew 18:21-35

From Series: "Waging Peace"

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.” ~ Jesus (Matt. 5:9) Our world is one of conflict, division, and violence. Our nation is being torn apart before our eyes. We’re at a boiling point and we long for peace. But how can we find it? How can we promote it? The answer lies in the Church: “God…reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18).” In this sermon series by Dr. Jim Mann, we will discover the art of “waging peace,” how it will bless our own lives and relationships, and ultimately change the world. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts (Col. 3:15).”
