The Longest Comma in History

If the new year were a punctuation mark, we’d probably consider it a period. One year ends…period. Start a new sentence. The way things have been going these past two years, maybe it’s an exclamation point. Anyway, I’d like to suggest that it’s a comma. Not just any comma, mind you, but the longest comma in history.
