Kindness?

What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “Do not covet.” But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead. (Romans 7:7-8, NIV)

31 Days of Kindness…what a great idea – or was it?  Like you, for the last nine days I’ve woken up in the morning and prayed: “Lord, show me who to be kind to…and how.”  He has and it has been fun.  BUT…

I’m a lot like Paul in the passage above. Spending so much time thinking about kindness has shown me the unkindness in my heart and thoughts.  I’m thinking to myself, “My kind deed today is to not tell this person what I really think.”  I don’t think that counts.

A few weeks ago I defined kindness: “A behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and concern for others.” I’ve got the behavior part down…now God’s working on my heart.

I want to hear the stories of what God is doing through you!  Let me know…
