I’ve never cared much about titles, but there is one I love to use for myself and for other followers of Jesus. It’s “fellow servant.”

Humility is not something that happens to us; it’s something we do. It’s not something we hope to grow into; it’s a decision we make each day.
Why is it so important to us that others realize how much we know, how much we’ve done, and how impressive we are? Why do we so need to have titles and to give them to our leaders? Why isn’t it enough to be known simply as servants of Christ? Why isn’t that the highest honor we could covet?
“A disciple is not above his teacher, or a slave above his master. It is enough for a disciple to become like his teacher and a slave like his master” (Matt. 10:24-25). If you don’t have higher ambitions than that – If it’s enough for you to be like Jesus, today’s chapter provides some profound insights into what the Person you want to resemble was like.
