Making Room for God

Numbers 11:1-34

Dr. Joseph Oppong

Does the news scare you?

Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered in anything short of God and His will for us. —Billy Graham

The people (Numbers 11:1-9) – Grumbling, complaining, forgetful

Do you complain & grumble or pray?

Moses (Numbers 11:10-15; 21-22) – Praying, trusting, exhausted, meek (2 Chron 20:1-15)

In your praying, do you play God? Or, “Not my will but yours be done”

God (Numbers 11:16-20;23 Deut. 32:4) – compassionate, consuming fire, promise keeper

Quail – 3 feet deep, 20 mile radius (Number 11:31-35) – “Is the Lord’s arm too short?”

My Response – Grateful Surrender (Habakkuk 3:1; 17-19)

Count your blessings, don’t complain

Take it to God and leave it there; He can handle it

Make room for God; gratefully surrender
