CloseThis message, centered in Luke 15, gives us a clear picture of the Father’s heart—a love that breaks cultural expectations and shame to welcome His children home. We’re reminded that no matter how far we’ve wandered or how long we’ve performed, the Father runs toward us, clothes us in honor, and restores our identity. Whether we've been lost in rebellion or pride, we’re all invited in. As a church, we’re called to reflect that same heart—throwing parties, not pots—for those taking steps toward Jesus. This is the Father’s love in action. And it changes everything.

How could God use me? Ever felt that when looking in the mirror? If we are honest, we all have at some point. It’s a very human thing to do. However, God loves to choose the common, messy, least, and unlikeliest people to do incredible things for His kingdom. Remember that it is not by power, nor by might, but by the Spirit of God, that mighty things are accomplished. God uses those who have faith in what He calls them to, trusting in the Lord beyond trusting in the strength of men.
During our Unsung Heroes series, we will be going back to the Old Testament and learning about how God shows up in the lives of people willing to put their faith and trust in God and live courageously for Him, even in the most impossible moments. You may have heard of some of these people, and others may be new to you. What unites them is that they were men and women who were not the first pick but served a powerful and mighty God. As we discuss their stories, we will discover how to live unashamed and empowered by the Spirit as heroes for Christ in our world today.
Through this series, we hope to inspire you not to allow your past or others to hinder your future in Christ. A hero lives with courage, is selfless, and is willing to stand up against wrong and rise to the challenges they face. To be a hero, you don’t have to wear a cape or be on the news. It’s doing the right thing for Jesus, empowered by the Spirit, all for the Glory of God. Real heroes don’t seek to be heroes but do the right thing at the right time. They are willing to stand up and answer the call. The Lord wants to use people like you and me to answer the call to go into our world on a mission for Him. To make Him famous. It’s time to be a hero for Christ wherever you find yourself today.
