Like Peter, Jesus is after our hearts: “We might think that God wanted simply obedience to a set of rules: whereas He really wants people of a particular sort.” (C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity) He wants all of you…not just part of you. As Jesus told the church in Ephesus – returning to our first love begins by obeying him. There aren’t any shortcuts.
