Words of Good Fortune

Maybe you feel you’re at the bottom of the food chain in this world, you don’t feel spiritual enough, you’ve been hurt, you’ve been taken advantage of, you can’t seem to get ahead. Jesus wants to speak his blessings over you. He wants to speak words of power over you as he brings the kingdom to life in your world. He wants to speak hope over you in a world that often feels hopeless.

Scripture References: Matthew 5:1-16, 1 Corinthians 1:26-31

From Series: "Lessons from the Mount"

“Blessed are the poor in spirit.” “Consider the lilies of the field.” These are some of Jesus’ most famous sayings – all found in his Sermon on the Mount. From the Beatitudes to the Lord’s Prayer, the sermon is very familiar…maybe too familiar. Perhaps, in our overfamiliarity with the sermon, we’ve missed just how astonishing God really is.
