CloseHow do we contend for the faith in an apostate world? First, we must know what love is and build ourselves up in that love, pursuing the Spirit not the soul or the flesh, and keep ourselves in that love, believing that God reveal himself in our lives. We contend for the faith in an apostate world by showing the same mercy God showed us to others, realizing that if we don’t, there are eternal consequences. We use wisdom and discretion as we reach these folks because we know just how easily we ourselves are swayed. And because of this we start over again…building ourselves in love, pursuing the Spirit, keeping ourselves in God’s love, and anticipating results.
Scripture References: Jude 1:20-25, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, Ephesians 1:17, Romans 8:26, 1 John 4:10-16, 1 John 2:5-6, 1 John 2:15, 1 John 4:19-21, 1 John 3:18, 2 Peter 3:9, Ephesians 6:12, Galatians 6:1-2, Ephesians 5:27

Many folks are in denial of the destructive cultural trends of the day. Others see the quick escalation and determine that resistance is useless. In the middle of all this is the little New Testament letter of Jude who urges believers to “contend for the faith.” Join New Life Church as Dr. Jim Mann leads through the study of this book in his sermon series “A Faith Worth Fighting For.”
