The Coming King

Wise builders received the King and built their lives on that foundation. Are you a wise or foolish builder? Upon what foundation is your life built? Is Jesus King in your life? Is he sovereign? Ruler? Lord? Does what HE says go, or are you in charge? When we reject God and believe ourselves to be the center of the universe, we’ve got to solve the problem. So, we shelter in place, social distance, and try to flatten out the curve. All of that is wise and should be done. But first and foremost, we should cry out to God! With our life founded on Jesus and his word, we have the promise that the house will not fall because it’s founded on the rock.

Scripture References: Matthew 7:24-27, Luke 19:28-40

From Series: "Lessons from the Mount"

“Blessed are the poor in spirit.” “Consider the lilies of the field.” These are some of Jesus’ most famous sayings – all found in his Sermon on the Mount. From the Beatitudes to the Lord’s Prayer, the sermon is very familiar…maybe too familiar. Perhaps, in our overfamiliarity with the sermon, we’ve missed just how astonishing God really is.
