From Bad to Worse

Because of the cross – because of Jesus’ sacrifice in our place. Our sins are paid in full. By his wounds we are healed. By his righteousness our junk is dealt with fully and finally. We are no longer separated from God…Jesus made a way for “the Lord to be with us.” This is the assurance and hope we now have that will allow us to face the darkest hours of our lives as well. We will suffer. And we may be tempted to believe that God owes us more, or that he’s angry with us or that he’s abandoned us. But that is not true. None of it. He is with us. And he will never leave or forsake us. God is with you!

Scripture References: Genesis 39:1-23

From Series: "That's Life"

Dysfunction. Betrayal. Heartbreak. These are some of words describing the life of Joseph. But his story is our story, too. In a striking parallel to the Gospel, where God redeems and restores broken and dysfunctional sinners and makes us into a family.
