Not-So-Spiritual Spirituality

What type of environment are we creating in our lives? With our spouses? Our kids? Our workplace? Is it a positive, life-giving, environment or is it toxic? If it’s toxic, Jesus told us the issue is in your heart. Perhaps like those troublemakers in Jude’s church, you’ve come to a place in life where you’ve elevated your will above God’s, your desires above His, or your spiritual-high-mindedness over the plain, written truth of His word. If you want God to change your toxic environment, let Him start by changing your heart. God wants us to open ourselves to Him to such a degree that we are creating an environment for Him to dwell and work in our lives. Where we’re so focused on Him, the world is neither alluring nor a distraction. Environments don’t just happen – they’re created. We have to fight for them!

Scripture References: Jude 1:8-10

From Series: "A Faith Worth Fighting For"

Many folks are in denial of the destructive cultural trends of the day. Others see the quick escalation and determine that resistance is useless. In the middle of all this is the little New Testament letter of Jude who urges believers to “contend for the faith.” Join New Life Church as Dr. Jim Mann leads through the study of this book in his sermon series “A Faith Worth Fighting For.”
