“What, then, are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?” (Romans 8:31, CSB)
The same shalom we have with God, we can have down here. And knowing that the shalom we have in God is bigger than any painful circumstances we might face gives us the ability and opportunity of being reconciled to God and the world around us.
Dysfunction. Betrayal. Heartbreak. These are some of words describing the life of Joseph. But his story is our story, too. In a striking parallel to the Gospel, where God redeems and restores broken and dysfunctional sinners and makes us into a family.
