The Church should be a community of his disciples that opens its doors to the poor, other races, and the powerless. This is the kind of community God wanted in Israel, and now in the Church. One that is generous and caring, that opens its homes to outsiders, that gives finances and provides medical treatment, provides shelter, advocacy, active love, support, and friendship. The same Holy Spirit who empowered the “great grace” that was on the church of the New Testament, is here today. He can empower our church in the exact same way.
