2013: All In

A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.  (Proverbs 25:11, NIV)

Happy New Year!

The screeching halt of 2012 and the rolling in of the new year found me asking God for a word for you and our church…nothing.  Have you ever asked for a word and not been able to hear a thing?  And then, at other times, it seems like God is speaking all the time?

Well, that was the case with me until the other night at our monthly Elders’ meeting.  As we were in a season of prayer for you, the Lord spoke through Joseph Oppong and then to my heart.  It was the answer to my prayer.  I have a word for you.

I don’t want to give it away before Sunday, so I’ll keep my powder dry ‘til then.  But here’s a teaser: “All in.”  God’s got some amazing things in store for you, your family, and our church if we’ll go “all in” in 2013.  Find out more this Sunday…it is an encouraging word, so if you have friends you know who need encouragement, bring them!

Also, don’t forget about Designed for Destiny.  This is a need the Lord showed the Elders’ a few months ago – many of us at New Life want to serve the Lord but don’t know where or how.  Designed for Destiny is a very simple, but profound, three week inductive study to help you find the answer.  The premise is this: God created you uniquely for a purpose…discover how he made you (your personality style, your spiritual gifts, your passion) and God’s purpose for your life becomes obvious.  We’ve done this before (years ago) and it was life-changing for many.  It should be fun watching light bulbs go off over our heads.

We’ll be meeting for about an hour (from 6-7 p.m.) on Sunday nights in January (13, 20, 27) in the Living Room.  You need to be there!

Can’t wait to share the Lord’s word for you this Sunday!  All in…
